On A Personal Note—Easing Back In

Hello hello! I didn’t mean to take an accidental month hiatus from the blog, but here we are. I’m sure it won’t be the last time! I’m so happy to say that life has been busy. Which is odd after such a quiet year spent home alone. DC is picking up. The parks are filled on sunny days with people soaking up the nice weather, walking past outdoor tables of friends drinking wine and dining is no longer foreign, popping in and out of shops is a regular occurrence again, the monuments and waterfronts and city streets are once again buzzing. I love it.

Lately, I’ve been trying to ease back into “normal” life. From making dinner plans, to wine dates, going to little parties, long evening walks, city adventures. It feels so good to be vaccinated and see the world opening back up! As much as I love a night in, forcing myself to make plans has helped me feel healthier and more alive. But it also takes a lot of my energy! So spending time at home is still one of my favorite things to do.

Speaking of…. if you’re following me on Instagram, then you know that I’ve been putting a lot of work into my apartment lately. I painted! The entire apartment. Alone. In one weekend. I know, I’m crazy. But I’m so so in love with how it looks and cannot express enough how much paint can make a difference in making a rental feel homey and custom. I’m so excited about how it’s feeling and can’t wait to keep going. I have plans to switch out lighting throughout the summer and get my bedroom in order. For now, I’m taking a break from spending money ha. I’m definitely planning to share more of my home here. I’m honestly just one of those people that needs things to feel a bit more complete before sharing. I’ll get there though! I think a post around how to customize a rental may also be of interest to you guys. So we’ll see!

In other news, I’m heading to Montana Thursday. I’m SO ready to go on my first trip since Covid and take a vacation from work. We’re heading to a wedding and then will be spending the week in Big Sky, soaking up the outdoors and beautiful scenes. I can’t wait! Mostly excited to reunite with family I haven’t seen in so long. This is a much-needed retreat.

Anyhow, between work and real life, blogging was put on the back-burner, but I’ve definitely been craving inspiration and pretty homes and goods and sharing all the things I love with you all. Determined to get back on track here (I know I’ve said that before)! I’m planning to have blog posts go up while I’m away and have plenty on my mind to share. I hope you’ll stop by again! In the meantime, I’ll be sharing my daily happenings, apartment updates, and city frolics on Instagram.
