Gone Antiquing Nº7

Getting back into the swing of things here on the blog with a new antique round-up of recent finds I’ve been bookmarking. If it weren’t for the fact that I actually have zero space for more antique lighting, I would have already stanched this chunky marble table lamp—with a fresh white empire shade, she’ll be a beauty…and under $100! Anyways, every time I dive into the endless hunt for beautiful objects online or wander through the quiet, treasure-filled halls of an antique shop, I find myself swept up in a wave of nostalgia for my old online vintage shop. The thought of reviving it keeps lingering in the back of my mind. I don’t know if I have the mental bandwidth just yet, but each passing day draws me a little closer to the idea. Especially with a clearer vision of my style now and a more refined taste, I think it could be special! I just loved finding pieces to add to the shop, packaging up those orders, and even the printed materials or little details like the tags or tape on the boxes… it was so fun and I miss it.

But I digress! I must say a big thank you to everyone who has supported my holiday gift guide—whether by shopping, sharing, or sending me a kind note. It was a true labor of love, and knowing the hours spent curating it have brought you joy is the best feeling. A handful of you even asked about printed versions for purchase (what a sweet thought!). While I don’t have any to offer this year—just one printed copy for my own keepsake—it’s sparked an idea. Perhaps a little printed booklet someday? Something tangible to bring this cozy corner of the internet to life, to inspire in a way that’s as tactile as it is visual. It’s a project taking shape in my mind the more I think about it—something to scheme and dream about.

For now, I’m content to think of new projects on the horizon and savor this space for the creative escape it offers. Here’s to more beautiful discoveries and inspiration ahead. Until then, happy antiquing—click items below to browse and enjoy!

Gone Antiquing Nº6

Hello friends. As the scorching heat wave persists here in D.C. (a staggering 100°!), I've found solace indoors, with the cool air, writing this newsletter. A recent antique trip stirred up some inspiration for a new round-up of beautiful finds to share with you all. It also had me thinking about offering my own personal tips in the art of antiquing. So I can help you all spot treasures similar to the ones you see in my home. So a post on that is on the horizon!

Antiquing remains a cherished weekend pastime and it brings me such joy to find fabulous pieces hidden among all the other stuff. And even more joy when I find the perfect place for it at home. During this latest excursion, I brought home so many goodies and I stumbled upon the most amazing metal greek key urn lamp, perfectly corroded. I harbor a fondness for antiquities with imperfections… little memories of all the lives they may have lived! Did I have room for it? Absolutely not. But I couldn’t leave it behind. I love lamp.

Anyhow, enjoy perusing this antique collection below! And stay cool among this relentless heat. It’s another day of hundred degree weather, so I have little hope for venturing outdoors. I’m planning to procure a demi baguette and some brie and will be perched on the sofa for a movie marathon. Ta ta for now! - Natalie

Gone Antiquing Nº5

Woke up to a gloomy grey morning, but no complaints from me. Sometimes it’s lovely to have a very slow, quiet Sunday with no plans other than to lounge and reset. I’m spending extra time in my comfy bed cuddling Millie and catching up on some favorite newsletters. It’s been such a beautiful week in DC that it was easy to have lots of plans simply to spend time outside or eating at a few favorite restaurants with girl friends. I also managed to pick up fresh spring flowers and several new candles before the weekend hit, so I have all I need for a bit of dolce far niente. Anyhow, I hope this letter finds you well and you can enjoy a bit of virtual antiquing while you yourself are also taking a bit of a late lounge in bed!
